I understand that most of you who decided to become small business owners certainly did not bargain for the hassles of dealing with the IRS and the State Department of Revenue. At least this is one hassle that I can help you knock out of the park.
A couple years ago, I decided to survey my clients as to how I was doing in my quest to be a superior accountant and much to my surprise, I started hearing from my best clients that “Sonu you do really well in returning phone calls and emails on time, but that is not the reason why I hired you as my accountant” Upon questioning my clients further, I learnt that they wanted me to be proactive and provide them with tax planning ideas and suggestions that would help them save tax dollars. I took the suggestions from my best clients at heart and dedicated myself to become a proactive tax planner.
Since then I have also transformed my accounting practice into a small business “boutique”. I work on a one on one basis with my clients on all aspects of their small business and their personal tax and financial planning matters. Instead of the traditional accounting “firm” made up of bookkeepers, staff accountants and account managers, clients now discuss their matters with me personally at anyplace of their choice instead of my office. Now I create forward looking proactive tax and financial plans instead of simply reacting. Now my clients and I work as a team to anticipate the future vs. playing catch up
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and travel. Traveling to remote corners of the earth and learning about and from the various cultures is my passion.
